Serb Fest Washington DC

 Serb Fest Washington DC

On the weekend of Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, the traditional Serbian Festival was held at St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Church, where Serbian culture, customs, and traditions were presented to parishioners as well as many visitors from the wider community. As a public event, the Serbian Festival plays an important role in introducing and sharing the richness of Serbian heritage and identity with the broader society.

The humanitarian organization Serbs for Serbs hosted its booth at the festival, and it was especially encouraging to see a large number of younger community members take part this year. Through their volunteer engagement, they actively participated in presenting the organization’s mission, speaking with visitors, and sharing the values and purpose that guide our humanitarian work.

During the festival, a total of $1,005 was raised through the sale of T-shirts and promotional materials, further supporting our charitable mission and providing another meaningful contribution toward helping families in need.

One of the most significant impressions is the recognition that has grown over many years of the organization’s steady presence at the Serbian Festival. Today, visitors often approach with familiarity, saying: We know who you are, we follow your work, and we are glad to see you here.” This affirms that our efforts are recognized and that our mission is deeply rooted within the community.
