Serb Fest Washingtong DC

 Serb Fest Washingtong DC

On the weekend of Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, the traditional spring Serbian festival Serb Fest was held in Washington, organized annually in front of St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Church in Potomac. This event represents one of the most important means of supporting the church’s work and is its largest source of income, bringing together numerous visitors from the entire region.

The Charity organization Serbs for Serbs once again had its booth at the festival. This year, special emphasis was placed on promoting the upcoming Trojka iz bloka charity basketball event, scheduled for June, with the goal of gathering as many parish members and community supporters as possible. In addition, a total of $1,023 in donations was collected to support socially vulnerable families across the Balkans.

Our booth attracted significant interest not only from people of Serbian heritage, but also from many visitors of other nationalities. Many expressed their enthusiasm, noting how inspiring it is to see that—even while living in America—we proudly preserve our culture, traditions, and unity, while at the same time working together to support large families and those most in need.
