Serbs for Serbs participate at the Serbian culture event in the heart of Miami: 120 days of Serbian heritage at the Museum of History
The History Miami Museum in Miami will host a major event dedicated to Serbian culture on September 13, 2025, lasting as long as 120 days. The event is organized by the independent organization Cultural Square and represents one of the most important steps in promoting Serbian tradition in Southeast Florida.
“Cultural Diplomacy in Practice”
The Cultural Square organization emphasizes the importance of this event for the Serbian community and the international audience: “Presenting Serbian culture in a prestigious museum in Miami provides an opportunity to present a rich, but often insufficiently known culture to the wider public. In an environment where 128 languages are spoken, such events break stereotypes, strengthen intercultural understanding, while at the same time strengthening the identity of the Serbian community and promoting cultural diplomacy in practice.”
The event is expected to be a bridge connecting the Serbian community with the local population, through art, music and tradition.
Young Serbs in the Diaspora: Connecting with Roots
One of the important goals of this event is to preserve the cultural identity of the younger generation of Serbs abroad:
“Cultural events of this type play a key role in preserving the identity of young people. They help them get to know their roots, language and art, which strengthens their sense of belonging and motivates them to visit Serbia more often.”
Organizers believe that the event will inspire young people to be more actively involved in community life and cherish the cultural heritage of their ancestors.
Cultural exchange between Serbia and America
The event is not only important for Serbs in Miami, but also has a broader diplomatic significance:
“Such events open up space for cooperation between artists, institutions and cultural workers from Serbia and the USA. The exchange of ideas, workshops and joint projects enrich both sides – through understanding tradition and through innovative art forms.”
Cultural exchange contributes to deepening bilateral relations and better connecting the two peoples.
The Universal Language of Art
Through artistic expressions, the boundaries between different cultures are erased, according to the organizers from Kulturni Trg.
“Tradition, art and music are universal languages that overcome linguistic and cultural barriers. Through exhibitions, concerts and workshops, audiences of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds connect on an emotional level, building tolerance and respect.”
Exhibitions, concerts and interactive performances will be the heart of this event.

A long-standing tradition of successful events
The Cultural Square has a number of successful events behind it, such as:

SCA Oplenac, Miami (2018) – folklore concert “A Serbian Story”
