Trojka iz Bloka in Washington DC – A Blessed Beginning Despite the Rain

On Sunday, June 8, the basketball courts in the courtyard of St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Church in Washington DC hosted the very first Trojka iz Bloka charity basketball shooting tournament, organized by Serbs for Serbs USA, with the support and blessing of the church clergy and parishioners.

Although heavy rain fell for most of the event, participants and guests showed remarkable spirit and dedication. With over 30 competitors taking part, a total of $3,199,70 was raised to support socially vulnerable families through the Serbs for Serbs humanitarian aid programs.

This inaugural tournament was also significant because it introduced many new people to the mission and work of our organization. This fresh interest and growing support give us confidence that the Washington DC event will continue to expand and flourish in the years ahead.
