The Association of Serbian Student Philanthropists, a group of young men and women at the University of Windsor, came together to undertake an initiative to help fellow Serbs in the homeland. Moved by the story of young Marta and her family from the village of Simićevo, in the municipality of Žabari, they decided to hold a bake sale with all proceeds going to the purchase of a new home for the family.

The mothers and grandmothers of these young students went to work, baking large quantities of cakes and cookies which the students packaged for sale. Their efforts paid off as $2,063 was raised.

Our heartfelt thanks go to these students, mothers, grandmothers and the donors who supported this initiative. The Association of Serbian Student Philanthropists of Windsor showed enthusiasm and a great love for their people.
