Charity “Brunch iz bloka” in New York
A sunny day in New York heralded a beautiful afternoon and early evening at the Marsanne restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, where volunteers from the Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs gathered on December 8, 2024, along with many long-time and new friends and supporters, for brotherly fellowship and solidarity with the most vulnerable Serbian families throughout the Balkans.
The staff and owners of the Marsanne restaurant, along with a masterful performance by DJ Darko Sretenovic, provided the backdrop for a great atmosphere. Over 50 guests had the opportunity to try the specialties of chef Zivko Rajkovic, while they waited for the screening of a short video about the most vulnerable families. Visibly moved and shaken after watching the documentary by the charismatic Daniel Milicevic, the guests enthusiastically participated in the virtuoso auction of the jersey of Bogdan Bogdanovic, the long-time captain of the Serbian national basketball team and a member of the NBA. The charity auction brought in an incredible $2,500, and at the end of the event, the total amount of donations collected amounted to $6,700.
Grateful to God and grateful to the owners, the restaurant staff, all friends and donors, and our prominent athletes for their support and cooperation, we eagerly await new gatherings in 2025 with the hope and desire that much-needed help will reach even more of the most vulnerable Serbian families.
