They have to move out, but have nowhere to go with their sick children. The Zubovićs from Kotor Varoš are under great pressure!
Father Igor Zubović (36) and mother Dijana (36) bravely fight for the survival of their family in the settlement of Čepak – Kotor Varoš, Republika Srpska. Igor works in the forest, hard work, as a lumberjack. Diana is unemployed, forced to take care of children who have major health problems. Their time is spent every day on visits to various specialists and doctors because two children are developmentally delayed.
The young Zubovićs are all depressed, most likely because of their daily life. The four oldest are Maja (11), Marijana (10), Maria (8), Angela (4) and the youngest, Gavrilo, is not yet a year old. Maja is mentally challenged and attends a special needs school, and they still haven’t determined what is wrong with Gavrilo. They had another brother who passed away, who was also a special needs child.
They live in a dilapidated house in need of renovation. Unfortunately, it does not belong to them as they simply rent it. This makes an already difficult situation much worse. The only help they receive is from social services and a few good people who have brought them aid packages.
Mother Diana is a hard working woman. We found the house neat and clean, as much as possible considering the old, dilapidated furniture. Despite everything, she manages to maintain the yard and the garden. All the children help their parents as much as they can.
If I could, I would also like to work. Unfortunately, it is what it is. Our biggest problem is the house. It is dilapidated and in disrepair, the foundations are weak and old, and in general everything is unsuitable, even for temporary living. The children are struggling without basic living conditions. However, we have nowhere else to go – she pointed out with a hint of fear in her voice.
Just when one thinks that it cannot get any worse, they were notified that they could live there for only a few more months. They still do not know where they will go after that, if they will find another house or if they will have to live on the street.
A terrible situation that threatens to become even worse. We must not allow four sick children to be left without a roof over their heads. Belief in the ultimate victory of good, the Charity Serbs for Serbs invites you, through your donations, to make it possible for the Zubovics to welcome next year’s holidays carefree, in their warm home!
